What is an
ArtCrawl?
ArtCrawl is a contemporary culture guide, offering art tours and a curated cultural calendar.
The art tours are customised walking tours of independent contemporary art spaces in Cluj, during which we talk about the works we encounter.
ArtCrawls are like having an artsy friend that takes you to surprising places you wouldn’t have found on your own: alternative exhibition spaces, creative studios, local shops and events.
By exploring what the local scene has to offer, you experience a more genuine side of Cluj and Romania.
ArtCrawl started in 2019 and has since organised over 100 tours for over 500 people, in Romanian, English, Hungarian and French.
Where do the tours take us?
In different art spaces, galleries, at events or artist studios, depending on what interests you and what is on in town. Theatre and performances can also be a part of the tour.
When are tours taking place?
You decide the date and time. Keep in mind a tour usually lasts around 3 hours and that most spaces are closed on Sundays.
How much does it cost?
It’s 30€ per person.
Who is it for?
Anyone. Really! No prior knowledge is needed, genuine curiosity will suffice.
How many people can attend?
A minimum of 1, maximum 15. ArtCrawls are meant for small groups of people, so we can discuss the art.
What’s included?
Besides the experience, you also get an online map with cool spots in Cluj.
We welcome everyone, regardless of age, sex, beliefs, sexual orientation, able-ness or background and will do our best to only include same-minded places in the tours.

Cultural manager, art history major and passionate art mediator. By initiating ArtCrawl, she wants to share her excitement for contemporary art and bring people closer to it by creating a context for dialogue about art.
Melania (RO, EN)
Young architect with a keen passion for the arts and the intricate relationship between art, society and culture. Her focus are architecture tours, where she is excited to share her knowledge and spark debates.
Mădălina (RO, EN)
Art practitioner as well as art theorist, she studied art and philosophy and has a PhD on philosophy of contemporary art, having an exceptional angle for sharing valuable insights.
Teodora (RO, EN, FR)
Enthusiastic and passionate about art, knows fun and interesting details about the city, and can recommend lots of cool places.
